Black is beautiful Adopt-A-Thon

Big, black dogs are often the last to be adopted from animal shelters – a phenomenon known as “black dog syndrome.” Black dogs often stay at shelters longer than lighter colored dogs. People may consider them too “plain”, think they are menacing, or simply don’t notice them because their dark color makes them disappear in their kennels.

Help us change all that!!

Despite his easygoing temperament and friendly nature, Micah has been at HES since July of 2008! Micah just started a 6-wk obedience training course courtesy of Play Dog Excellent! The first class was Tuesday 11/3 and if he’s adopted, the rest of his training classes are available to the adopter FREE OF CHARGE!!!! He is a pleasure to take to class, extremely eager to learn and highly motivated says Volunteer Coordinator and Micah’s current training partner Cheryl Horn. What a great way to start the bonding between you and your new best friend!

Stop by Petsmart on November 14th or 15th and meet Micah and some of his beautiful AND handsome friends hoping to find warm and loving homes for the holidays!
