082111 PUGS (5) PEACHES

Originally uploaded by Papa’s Pugs

Whew, it has been a long and hot summer at the Honky Tonk. First our A/C went out and management was starting to get nervous about us getting overheated, but the weather worked out and it cooled off long enough for the new unit to be installed. Then on April 27th a series of tornadoes blew through town. The storms started at 9:00am and went until 11:00pm. We all went into a safe area to ride out the weather. Thankfully only a few trees on the property were blown down, but we were without power for 101 hours. I didn’t count, but the manager at the ‘Tonk was sure counting. When the power did come on, the manager made us clean the whole place. Ugh! We’ve had a lot of visitors come through this summer and I am always the gracious hosts. I like to make sure that everyone is happy and having a good time. That gets you about caught up with summer activities and now for the big news… I am retiring from the Honky Tonk. I know a lot of people though that I’d stay here forever and even though I am welcome to, I am going to live with a new family. It’s been great here, but it’s time for me to move on to live the good life. I’ll miss everyone and especially my BFFs Lola, Baby Girl, and Violet. XOXO Peaches

Peaches loves her breakfast

It didn’t take Peaches long to learn that on the weekends, Papa’s pugs get eggs for breakfast. She is very impatient and will bark at me to hurry up! She absolutely cracks me up in that I can just imagine her saying “I’m hungry”!!! Disclaimer for the photo below, that was eggs for all the pugs: Lola, Baby Girl, Violet, and Peaches.

Hey y’all it’s me Peaches. Whew, things have been really busy at the ‘tonk and I have been working myself to the bone. I have even lost some weight on a low carb diet. A couple of people have noticed and said that I look really good (that made me blush). I did spend this past Sunday with my BFFs as it was Lola’s Birthday. We got our hair and nails done and just relaxed. That’s exactly how I like to spend my day off, hanging with the girls. Well, that’s about all for now. XOXO Peaches.

We have nick named Peaches “Super Big.” Violet’s nick name is “Big ‘N” so when Peaches came to us my husband would say the Big One needs XX. And I would say which Big One; which he would reply Super Big. Baby Girl’s nick name is “Teeny Tiny”. She is only 10lbs. This afternoon I caught Super Big and Teeny Tiny taking a nap together today. This poor dog bed is probably only big enough for Baby Girl, but the two of them managed to squeeze in next to each other. Or rather Baby Girl on top of Super Big Peaches.

My story about Peaches

Here is the story that I made up about Peaches (this is purely fictional, she is a pug).

So when I hear the name Peaches it makes me think someone who would be a waitress in a Honky Tonk in the south. She would have worked in the same tired bar just about her whole life eking out a living, but earning an honest dollar. Everyone within a 10 county radius knows Peaches; she takes care of all her customers and makes sure they never run out of sweet tea. Don’t tell anyone but the cook will sneak her a meal on the side so that she doesn’t have to pay out of her tips. Peaches has a really pretty face, just look at her left side, because she has a lazy eye on the right side. She is a little plump in the middle, but everyone loves her regardless. Peaches is a girl’s girl too, and although she doesn’t have a lot of friends, she is a true friend to a special few and would do anything for her bffs. After working a double (remember this is make believe, Peaches the pug has never really worked), Peaches is just happy to curl up in her little bed and catch some ZZZZs. Don’t think that you can wake her though, because she could sleep through a tornado tearing through a trailer park.

This was Peaches on the way to the vet’s office on Saturday. Really she is NOT a morning person. I had initially left her in the bed when we first got up so that I could feed the other maniacs. I swear, if I had not woke her up, she’s still be snoring.

John Paul Pet Day or bath day

I use Paul Mitchell hair products and my pugs use John Paul Pet products. While giving the girls a bath, I strategically placed their John Paul Pet oatmeal shampoo & conditioner in the background. Of course, Baby Girl was her usual obstinate self in the sink. Lola acts like I am torturing her. Violet just stands there like an angel and lets me lather her up and condition her down. I was afraid that Peaches would not fit in the sink, but she did and she was a good girl. It was an afternoon of pugs getting their hair “did” and pawdicures.
