TEDDY KEY CHAIN

A couple of weeks ago, I started following @shopmollyd on twitter and she had some posts about some of her handmade crafts that were canine related. Mollyd is her Daschund. I had asked her to do some pug cup collars and she did; they turned out wonderfully. See previous post Pug Cup Collar. Since that time, Brooke had gotten signed up on Facebook (social networking site) and we ‘friended’ each other. She saw a picture of Teddy and offered to make me a keychain with Teddy’s picture on it. I mean how sweet is that for someone that you don’t even know to do for you?!

I checked the mail tonight and guess what I found? I package from Brooke and Mollyd with a keychain of my Teddy that she drew and the nicest note! You can find more crafts and information about Shopmollyd at her Etsy site (like Ebay, but more for handmade items): http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6040005&ga_search_query=shopmollyd&

It is Lola’s 5th Birthday!!! I can’t believe that my little baby is growing up. I ordered some monogrammed collars from Harness Heaven and they came in the mail today (perfect timing). Lola has her very own collar with her name on it! Janis had even included a little doggie biscuit and Lola got to eat the whole thing! Happy Birthday to my little black pug!

Harness Heaven-I have seen Janis’ work over and over again. Every time that I would see a new photo of another pug with either a monogrammed collar or harness, I would say “I have to have those!” Well, I finally measured my pugs’ necks and picked out my fabrics and placed an order. They arrived in just a few days and I am completely blown away with such cuteness!!! My pugs walk on harnesses, but I wanted some collars for fashion purposes and these are very haute couture. There is nothing like seeing your pugs’ name on their collar that makes you smile with happiness. Now that I have the collars, I think that I am going to order matching harness!

I convo’d the designer and asked if she could make some with pugs on them, and she did! These are sleeves that you can slide on your coffee cups from Starbucks or your local coffee shop. It prevents you from using a cardboard sleeve thus eliminating additional landfill waste. You are showing off your pug love and looking so fashionable at the same time!

Teddy’s new orthopedic LL Bean bed

Teddy with new bed

Originally uploaded by janahallpapa

The plus side of the recession is that I ordered a monogrammed bed for Teddy with a matching blanket on Monday and it arrived by Friday. The website says estimated delivery 2-3 weeks. Which in my mind is 14-21 days, but my order got here in only 5 days! I have been looking for Teddy a durable, washable, orthopedic bed for awhile and finally found one that fit the bill. The ironic thing is that I have the matching bag and did not even realize it. As soon as I put the bed down, all of the pug had to check it out and give if the comfort test. I believe it has passed. I think that I might even order another, bigger one for ALL the pugs to share.

Potty Accident at Pug Play Date

The first Saturday of each month is designated as Chattanooga Pug’s Play Date. Since January is historically yucky weather, we have our pug gathering at Bone Appétit located at 103 Frazier Ave, Chattanooga, TN. The owners, Kathy & Joan, are always so gracious to let us come invade their store for a couple of hours with a bunch of snorting pugs! Also, they are so generous and have fresh baked treats available for our babies. This year, I decided to take Baby Girl since she has only been to one other pug meet up and has never been to Bone Appétit. I admit, I was running a little late to get there, but I did take Baby Girl outside to potty before we left the house. There were only 4 other pugs there, which was a low turn out, but good so that BG did not get too excited. She and Pippa greeted each other and were off to explore the store and all the new smells. They have tons of doggie treats and the most adorable gift items. Well, inevitably, Baby Girl took the biggest poop right in the store! Luckily, it was towards the back of the shop and I could quickly scoop it up. I am sure I was about 8 shades of red from embarrassment! Then Baby Girl proceeded to pee pee on a cat toy at the front of the store! Needless to say, I was completely embarrassed at this point. I borrowed some paper towels to clean up out little piddle, but I felt compelled to buy the toy that my pug had just pee’d on. I am not sure what I am going to do with a cat toy since we have all dogs, but thankfully, it was on sale! (Maybe I can give it to my Mom’s cats and they won’t notice?) It is kind of a funny story, but one that I hope we don’t repeat again! We appreciate everyone at Bone Appétit for their support for our Pug Meet Up so please visit them and get your canine friend some yummy treats!

E.B.D. Everything But the Dog Carry-All. This is seriously the cutest, most practical, and best pet bag I have ever found! It isn’t a pet carrier, but it’s a bag to carry all of your essential pug items in: food, water, blanket, and plenty of pockets for other necessities. I got the black one with black and white Antique Paw interior. And matching poop bags! OMG! If that is not the cutest thing ever! The pugs and I look so stylish for day and overnight trips. I know everyone that sees us will be envious and want their own bag for their pug or 4 legged friend!

Not only are the bags the best thing since sliced bread, the owner/designer Jamye Hickman is the cutest thing ever! I am so enamored with people that not only come up with an idea, but are able to execute an idea that is not just good but great! She graciously discounted the bags for Pugfest and I hope that she had a great day, because I know that she was very much appreciated! I wish Jamye much success and I’m looking forward to future wonderful creations! Please visit http://www.ribbonsandbow-wows.com/ebd-detail.aspx to order your own E.B.D!
