Saturday was our annual Chattanooga Pugs social at Bone Appetit Bakery. Bone Appetit is located on Frazier Ave in Chattanooga and has not only homemade treats, but a wonderful assortment of canine items. They are always so wonderful to host us each January. It is usually too cold to meet outside this time of year and today was no exception-we had snow flurries so we enjoyed ourselves inside. Lola & I got to kick off the New Year with some old friends and meet some new pugs too!

Here is Lola’s friend Jack who was looking very stylish-kind of like a punk rock pug.

I went “exchanging” today at the mall. Although The Limited was not on my list, I stopped in. Guess what I saw at the entrance? Three mannequins all dress in pug t-shirts! I don’t think that they were for sale, but they were adorable. I did manage for find a couple of things for myself while I was checking out the displays. And by the way, there are having a red hot sale!

It was freezing outside today. No really, at 12:00pm it was only 25 degrees. Have no fear; Chattanooga Pugs were meeting at Bone Appétit so we were toasty warm inside. Every January, Bone Appétit lets us invade their store for our pug gathering. We had a great turn out of people and their pugs.

Before the holidays, I found an ETSY.com site from NurdBunny with the cutest hats and scarves for pugs. I am sure that other canine breeds buy them, but NurdBunny has a pug as their model. I had sent them a convo to see if they would make me a matching hat and scarf too, and they said yes! Today was our first outing in our winter wear. We went to our local doggie bakery for our January pug gathering. Lola, Baby Girl, and I all had on our hats and scarves. I can imagine the looks that we were getting riding down the road. I pulled up to a stop light and it was all that I could do not to burst out laughing. I could literally feel the person in the car next to us staring at the spectacle! Thanks NurdBunny!

Pictured are Baby Girl (SEPRA hospice pug) with he gray and pink hat, and Lola with her pink and black hat.

A Walk in the Park bedding

This is the cutest bedding and a gift to myself to start the new year off in fresh linens. They also have a coordinating embroidered sheet set. The description was “retro” and “1950’s” and that is all that I needed to read and the fact that it has doggies on it. Unfortunately it is not pugs, but the canine sentiment is there.

He doesn’t eat very much, is house trained, and just wants to be cuddled! Lola is not very sure about this new addition to the family. Baby Girl is not amused. She doesn’t like him at all and has not stopped barking at him!

Just click on the photo and it will take you to my flickr page where I have some videos of all there pugs!

So part of the fun about going to an AKC dog show is all the shopping. This was a pretty big weekend in Atlanta and there were some great vendors. The Hunting Horn specializes in dogs, bones, paws and all things sparkly! I have an affinity for pave’ so this piece immediately caught my eye. Their jewelry is handmade and each piece is exquisite. www.huntinghorn.com

TEDDY KEY CHAIN

There is a site called Twitter.com where you send out short ‘tweets’ of what you are doing or thinking at that moment. People can select to follow your tweets and you can follow others. A couple of weeks ago, I started following @shopmollyd on twitter and she had some posts about some of her handmade crafts that were canine related. Mollyd is her Daschund. I had asked her to do some pug cup collars and she did; they turned out wonderfully. See previous post Pug Cup Collar. Since that time, Brooke had gotten signed up on Facebook (social networking site) and we ‘friended’ each other. She saw a picture of Teddy and offered to make me a keychain with Teddy’s picture on it. I mean how sweet is that for someone that you don’t even know to do for you?!

I checked the mail tonight and guess what I found? I package from Brooke and Mollyd with a keychain of my Teddy that she drew and the nicest note! You can find more crafts and information about Shopmollyd at her Etsy site (like Ebay, but more for handmade items): http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6040005&ga_search_query=shopmollyd&
